San Jose Children's Health Fair
In cooperation with the Santa Clara County Children's Health Initiative, CDM and Discovery Youth sponsored the San Jose Children's Health Fair. At the fair, Discovery Youth presented a variety of health-themed activities for kids.
This event was significant because Discovery Youth participants:
- Shared their knowledge with children from all over San Jose
- Challenged themselves with activities outside of the Museum
- Connected the research and projects they had created at CDM with real-world experience helping local children
- Showcased specific skills that they gained at Discovery Youth: One staff member said, "Certain kids who went through this program wouldn't have seen themselves in that role" before the fairs
