Lawrence Hall of Science Field Trip
Discovery Youth visited the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley as part of a youth science day where they participated in breakout sessions and performances with teens from throughout the region.
One DY staff member said, "Our kids came without any explicit instructions...but we were involved in a breakout session with similar kids. Each was asked to present without preparation, and our kids were the first to volunteer"
This trip was a significant success for the participants because they demonstrated confidence in interacting with older teens and in speaking about the health education topics that they had been researching.
