Mammoth Discovery!

Grab the family and get ready to be amazed by the 16-foot tall mammoth that ambled into Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose. A replica based on bones found along the Guadalupe River near the San Jose Airport, this large creature gives us a sense of the way life used to be in Silicon Valley. Children's Discovery Museum's newest exhibition, Mammoth Discovery!, will spark the scientist within each of us to make discoveries, find out more and share stories of our explorations. Uncover a new world as you dig for fossils, compare teeth, learn about the creatures that roamed San Jose during the Ice Age, and become a scientist yourself.

And there's more! From photos of the original fossil excavation and projection art displayed throughout San Jose, to flying mammoths, you won't want to miss all the Mammoth excitement. 'Like' CDM on Facebook and check out CDM's blog to get the latest and greatest news about what it takes to bring an Ice Age animal to life.
