FoodShed is committed to providing wholesome, nutritious, and most importantly delicious food for kids and grownups alike.
We source local, fresh, and seasonal ingredients. All of our dishes are made from scratch, and our recipes are low in sugar with no artificial ingredients or preservatives.
We support local farmers, bakers, and producers; purchase only hormone- and antibiotic-free meat and poultry, sustainable seafood, and cage-free eggs. All of our fruits, vegetables, dairy and grains are organic – always.
Guiding Principles
We start with an eye toward the USDA’s My Plate standards, which demonstrate how to eat a balanced, nutritious daily diet, and also recommend that we:
Make half our plate fruits and vegetables
Make at least half our grains whole grains
Focus on lean proteins
We provide appropriate portion sizes for both children and adults. The best way to maintain a healthy weight with a delicious diet is to not eat too much food!
We do not offer beverages with added sugar.
We offer gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options
We employ practices to reduce waste, water, and energy usage in our kitchen and café and compost our food waste.
We pay our staff above the minimum wage, offer a range of benefits and treat everyone with dignity and respect.
