Make Music Day – Free music and art event at the Museum
Wednesday, June 21
11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

We will not be charging for this event and it will take place in the Museum’s Amphitheatre. Please enter through our side Amphitheatre entrance, just below our colorful portico area on the Woz Way side of the Museum.

Join us and musician Andre Thierry for Make Music San José in the Museum’s outdoor amphitheatre on Wednesday, June 21, the summer solstice. An accordion virtuoso, who the Washington Post described as “a master of pumping out fast, funky rhythms,” Andre’s “Are You Ready to Learn” program shares a mix of African, Native American, Blues, and French Kreole dance melodies with elements of Afro-Caribbean music. You’ll learn about vest rub boards, drums and accordions, all popular Zydeco instruments. Let’s come together in spirit and celebrate music that brings us joy at this free, community-curated festival of music supported by our partners at the City of San José Office of Cultural Affairs.

Children are invited to create their own rain sticks to continue the musical creativity at home!
